ANALYSIS OF THE EMPLOYEE RECRUITMENT AND SELECTION PROCESS ON THE EXAMPLE OF SELECTED FOREST DISTRICTS
Generational change and employee turnover in organizational units of the State Forests require the employer to take actions aimed at an effective employee recruitment process and ensuring staff fluidity. The aim of the work was to analyze the process of recruiting employees for vacant positions in selected units of the State Forests. The implementation of recruitment processes conducted in the years from 2020 to 2023 in the examined forest districts was analyzed and compared.
Based on the research, it can be concluded that the mandatory requirements for employment in both forest districts were similar. In all recruitments, the same recruitment methods and techniques were used, i.e.: substantive assessment of application documents and a qualification interview. The research also shows that in the years 2020-2023, more than half of the vacancies concerned the field forest service. The number of recruitment advertisements and the number of offers submitted in individual recruitments. Internal recruitment, in the period under review, slowed down, however. a significant number of offers submitted to forest districts in external recruitments indicates that employers enjoy great interest on the labor market.
According to the authors, in order to optimize the recruitment and selection process, it would be necessary to introduce the necessity, and not just the possibility, of conducting qualification tests in the recruitment regulations. In addition, during the research it was found that a very beneficial solution would be to introduce an additional tool in the form of task tests to the recruitment regulations, thanks to which it would be possible to more accurately assess the candidate's preparation for work in the position, and above all to obtain information about the competences they possess.
