The Karkonosze National Park is counted among the valuable natural sites with insufficiently known fauna, this applies especially to ground beetles from the family Coleoptera, Carabidae. Based on a literature review and the so-called "grey literature" faunistic information on this group of beetles was compiled, subjecting the list of species to criticism. It was noted that species such as Carabus variolosus, C. irregularis, C. problematicus, Calosoma sycophanta require confirmation with contemporary data due to general distribution in Poland and Europe or habitat preferences. The report of Carabus auratus should be considered unlikely. Among the 80 species reported from the Park, some species may be symptomatic of anthropopressure-related threats and require monitoring on a par with valuable species. Given the unsatisfactory level of knowledge of the Carabidae of the Karkonosze National Park, further faunistic studies should be carried out, taking into account the whole habitat spectrum of the area.
