The article attempts to assess the educational offer of the Zielona Góra Forestry Inspectorate, its effectiveness and determine whether it is consistent with the needs of students of Zielona Góra schools. The survey was addressed to principals and teachers of Zielona Góra schools located within the territorial range of the forest inspectorate. Based on the research, it was possible to identify both the strengths and weaknesses of forest education conducted by the forest district. According to the opinions of the respondents, the offer of the forestry inspectorate should be more widespread and advertised among schools. There also should be a list of topics to choose from at the application stage and online registration should be possible. In addition, it has been shown that the currently adopted model of forest education without a separate educator's position for the forest district located in the immediate vicinity of the urban center does not guarantee the provision of educational services at an appropriate level that meets the needs of the local society.
