According to the sources, the beginnings of the Sieraków Forest district date back to 1832, when part of the current administrative area was also occupied by, among others, the Bucharzewo Forest Inspectorate (1869–1972). After the end of the Wielkopolska Uprising, Puszcza Notecka (Puszcza Notecka Forest) was incorporated into the Polish forestry administration. The single-species structure of pine forests dominated these areas. The beginning of the 20s of the 20th century was an exceptionally tragic period in the history of the Puszcza Notecka (Puszcza Notecka Forest), as the gradation of the pine beauty moth did not omit the grounds of the Sieraków Forest District. This event affected the further fate of the Sieraków forests. After the end of the gradation, the Cegliniec reserve was established, where, among other things, and thanks to the ants, the old pine forest survived. In the meantime, reforestation of the areas destroyed by the Panolis flammea began. In 1928, in the deciduous forest areas of the Bucharzewo Forest District, at Kubek Lake, the first initiative in Poland to introduce the Canadian beaver (Castor canadensis Kuhl) was established. The founder of the breeding was Władysław Janta-Połczyński COA Bończa. The place quickly became an object of interest for many foresters and researchers. The breeding  was visited, among others, by Władysław Grzegorzewski, Director of the State Forests in Poznań, and Prof. Edward Feliks Lubicz-Niezabitowski, Rector of the Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry in Poznań. In the same year, in autumn in the roadside stone, forester Tomasz Andrzejewski forged the inscription “10th anniversary of the rebirth of Poland on 11.11.1928”. The stone was discovered in 2019 by local foresters. In 1933, a Military Training of Foresters organization was also established in the area, where forest workers, by training and shooting competitions, prepared themselves for auxiliary military activities, especially in times of tension in border zones. Foresters working in this part of Puszcza Notecka were doing their duties, not realizing that the freedom regained in 1919 was not given to them once and for all. They could not foresee that the time would come when the forests they restored would be their refuge, and they would have to fight or even die in them. Working for the sake of the forests, they served their homeland, writing a beautiful page in the history of the Sieraków Forest District, and the State Forests.
