VASCULAR PLANTS OF THE HISTORIC PARK IN POTULICE IN THE LIPKA COMMUNE

Abstract

Introduction. The historic park in Potulice located in Greater Poland was established in the first half of the 19 th century. Due to it’s historical value park was listed in the register of monuments in 1982. The aim of the work was prepare an inventory and and analyze vascular plants as well as to select the most valuable trees.

Material and methods. Field studies were conducted from March to October in 2021 and 2022. Vascular flora was analyzed in terms of belonging to geographical-historical, socio-ecological groups, life forms and frequency of occurrence in the analyzed area.

Results. In the park 155 taxa of vascular plants belonging to 128 genera and 53 families were inventoried. The most commonly represented families are: Asterace, Poace and Rosaceae. Two species under partial protection have been found. 35 trees and a group of trees that deserve protection in the form of natural monuments were also selected. According to Raunkiaer, the most numerous category of life forms are hemicryptophytes (34%), megaphanerophytes (20%) and therophytes (12%) are characterized by a significant share. The park is dominated by native species (71%) over alien species (29%). Among the latter, kenophytes predominate (16%). The flora is dominated by species of forest communities from the classes: Fagetalia, Prunetalia; meadow: Arrhenatheretalia and Molonio-Arrhenatheretea; nitrophilic: Sambuco-Salicion, Alilarion; ruderal: Arction and veil: Convolvulion.

Conclusions. In the park there are mainly frequent, common and native species. There are few valuable, rare and protected plants. Of the alien taxa, non-invasive, ornamental plants predominate. The area of the studied object is varied and, despitethe small area, is characterized by a large variety of vascular flora.
