Silvarum Colendarum Ratio et Industria Lignaria

Introduction. The Górecki Grove at Maryan Sanktuary in Górka Klasztorna is a remnant of the former forest. Due to its valuable dendroflora and historical value, it was entered in the register of monuments in 1976. The purpose of the work was make an inventory of the most valauable trees, determine their distribution, current dimensions and health status.

Material and methods. The inventory was made in the growing season in 2019 and winter in 2020. Circumferences and heights were measured and the state of health of the trees was determined, and their geographical location (GPS) was also noted and created map sites of specimens.

Results. The inventory of the most valuable dendroflora showed that 168 specimens grow in the park. These are the most common hornbeam C. betulus. Mostly native species have been observed, only the horse chestnut A. hippocastanum is geographically alien species. Tree circumferences range from 160 cm to 597 cm, while heights from 7 m to 36 m. The health condition of most of them (55%) is average. All of 27 established natural monuments marked with plaques were found.

Conclusions. The greatest asset of Górecki Grove is presence of old, valuable trees, of which nearly 100 are suitable to be a natural monument. Comparing Uciechowski at all. inventory (1976) with the current one, it was found that the number of natural monuments has decreased from previous years.
