Introduction. In the Central Register of Nature Conservation Forms, 156 monumental trees were recorded, in the lists of communes and the Regional Directorate for Environmental Protection in Szczecin in the Gryfiński district. The main aim of the research was to verify and update the number of trees, their dimensions and health condition in comparison with the data from the above-cited sources.

Material and methods. The research was carried out in the growing seasons of 2018-2019. The circumference and height of the trees as well as the width of the crowns were measured and the health condition of the trees was assessed. The location (GPS) of trees was determined and appropriate care treatments were indicated.

Results. 155 out of 156 nature monuments (127 individual trees and 28 groups) were inventoried, comprising 255 monumental trees belonging to 19 taxa (17 species and two cultivars). These are native (10) and alien (9) taxa. The most abundant are Quercus robur (37%), Fagus sylvatica (25%) and Ulmus laevis (15%). The measured trees have a circumference from 30 to 1080 cm, their height ranges from 2 to 35 m, and the health condition of half of them was good or very good. The "Krzywy Las" natural monument in the Gryfino commune was excluded from the research.

Conclusions. The presented research showed that all sources gave the same number of monumental trees in the Gryfiński district. One-third of the protected trees were in poor or poor health condition and require professional care. Half of the trees were not marked with boards informing about their status as a monumental tree.
