CULTIVATION AND USE OF A NATURAL HYBRID OF ACACIA IN VIETNAM

Abstract

The main aim of the study was to present a literature review concerning a natural hybrid of Acacia mangium ×Acacia auriculiformis, which is cultivated in Vietnam. Acacia mangium, A. auriculiformis and the Acacia hybrid being a combination of these two species are the most significant fast-growing species in Vietnam. Wood of Acacias is used in all branches of the wood industry. The paper presents the history of the derivation of the Acacia hybrid and its current status. This study also presents a description of the Acacia hybrid species, wood properties, cultivation method and potential wood uses.
