Silvarum Colendarum Ratio et Industria Lignaria

The aim of this study was to analyse the effect of the 2010 flood on oak stands in the Wołów Forest District. The analysis was based on the synthetic tree damage index (Syn). Investigations were conducted in the years 2011 and 2013 in 7 plots affected by the flood and 3 control plots. In the first year of observations the syn- thetic tree damage index ranged from 0.22 to 1.47. The value of the Syn index recorded after 2 years was higher, which indicates a deterioration of condition in most stands. A stronger reaction was observed in those stands affected by that flood, which during the first evaluation were characterised by the lowest values of the Syn index. However, the investigations did not show a definite effect of the flood and stagnant waters on the condition of those stands.
