Impact of natural disasters on the price of wood in Poland
Abstract
The problem that was analysed was the question of whether there is a relationship between the occurrence of natural disasters and changes in the level of the price of wood raw material. The method of trend analysis was chosen to conduct the study. A forecast of wood prices was
made for different data levels and compared with actual data obtained from the database of the Czersk Forest District.
The aim of the study was to determine how random and external factors may influence the price level of raw wood in Poland. The data from the Czersk Forest Inspectorate were used as an example.
It was found that there is a relationship between external factors, which may be natural disasters, and the primary price of raw wood.
