In this study, according to ASTM 1413-76 standard Spruce (Picea orientalis (L.) Link.) Stone water and boron compounds in various concentrations (1%, 2%, 3%) and different dipping times (25, 35, 45, 55 min) impregnation and the changes on technological properties were investigated. Technological properties of the samples such as % retention, full / air dry specific gravity value, bending strength, modulus of elasticity in bending, pressure resistance parallel to the fibers were determined.
According to the results of the experiment; the highest full dry specific gravity value was found in 25 minutes immersion time (0.41 g/cm3) for single use of stone water, while the air dry specific gravity was again 25 minutes immersion time (0.39 g/cm3) for single use of stone water; In mechanical properties, the highest bending resistance value was found in 45 minutes immersion time in stone water (70.61 N/mm2), the highest modulus of elasticity in bending was in 35 minutes immersion time of stone water (8100 N/mm2), and the compressive strength parallel to the fibers was again 25 minutes immersion time in stone water (33.56 N/mm2).
