When we choose a wooden house, we choose internal harmony and harmony with nature that allows us to create a microclimate appropriate for a human. The aim of this study was to determine the impact of wooden construction on the value of lowering fees for purchasing CO2 emission allowances. The presented data show the amount of CO2 absorbed by wood used in wooden construction and the amount of CO2 emission reduction due to the use of wood as a substitute. The data used in the work come from various statistical sources and published scientific papers. Based on the calculations made, it was found that in Poland in 2014, the wooden construction reduced CO2 emissions by 207 thousand tonnes with a value of 4.3 million PLN. If the share of wooden construction increased from 5% to 30% in 2020, these figures would be respectively 1.2 Mt CO2 and 166.3 million PLN. ER -
